Description:
Shaniwarwada, the royal residence of the Peshwas was built in the 18th century by the second Peshwa, Bajirao-I. It was built in wood with beautiful carvings and paintings. It became the seat of political power and achieved tremendous importance. But unfortunately nothing of the big palace remains as it was burned down. Not once but twice. It is said to have been the finest palace in the Deccan in its times.
