Description:
The Bada Imambara or Asafi Imambara was built by Nawab Asaf ud daula in 1784 A.D. The structure shows the mixture of Rajput and Mughal architectures with Gothic influences. The interior of the Imambara is extensive and the interior vaulted hall is said to be one of the largest apartments of its kind in the world.
But more amazing factor of this place is the Bhul-bhulaiya or the maze, a labyrinth. There is a large mosque the Jama Masjid, nearby and the well on the premises is believed to be bottomless.
Asaf Ud Daula also built the Rumi Darwaza next to the Bada Imambara. This huge door is known as the entrance to the Bada Imambara. The sheer size of the door is enough to mesmerize any visitor.
