    Open from October through May each year, the best season for wildlife spotting, Aman-i-Khás is a wilderness camp located in a rugged brushwood forest on the fringes of Ranthambore National Park. Combining the Sanskrit word for ‘peace’ with the Hindi word for ‘special’, khás, Aman-i-Khás offers accommodation in 10 luxury air-conditioned tents each with soaring canopies draped in the Moghul style. There are also three separate tents for dining, spa treatments and relaxing. Twice-daily, guided wildlife viewing excursions take guests into the park to spot indigenous game including tigers, leopards, hyenas, sloth bears, crocodiles and chital deer.

en authentic, appropriately stylish, comfortabl y elegant tents are pegged complete with modern necessities, tucked beneath their wilderness exterior. The tents are reminiscent of the splendid travelling Moghul camps during the hunting seasons of this richly elaborate period. Measuring 108m², each tent is expansively designed beneath a soaring six-metre canopy and all are identical in design. They are constructed of canvas and supported by a steel frame with the interior walls a nd ceilings draped in fine cotton. Entry to each tent is through a screened area that contains an armchair and a dining table with chairs. Beyond this is the centre of the tent under which lies an oversized daybed. Opening from the central area are three fur ther sections for sleeping, bathing and dressing. The bedroom area is fitted with a king-size bed flanked by twin writing desks. The bathing area includes a shower, soaking tub and separate toilet whilst the dressing area contains cupboards with hanging space and twin vanities. Each tent is air-conditioned and there is also a cooler chest for drinks.
